RI Loses 900 Jobs in November

RI lost 900 jobs in November.
Rhode Island lost 900 jobs in the month of November, according to the RI Department of Labor and Training (RIDLT).

Rhode Island has added 600 jobs over the past three months and has 5,100 more jobs than a year ago, according to RIDLT.

During the month, RI based jobs totaled 502,700, down 900 from the October number of 503,600.

The number of employed RI residents was 539,700, down 200 from October, according to state numbers.

Since November of 2017, the number of employed RI residents was up 8,500. 

Unemployment Rate at 3.8%

The unemployment rate for November was 3.8%, unchanged from October.

Since last year, the unemployment rate is down seven-tenths of a percentage point from November of 2017.

The number of unemployed RI residents was 21,300; also unchanged from October.

Since last year, the number of unemployed decreased by 3,800.

The U.S. unemployment rate was 3.7% in November of 2018, unchanged from the previous month and down four-tenths of a percentage point since last year.
