RI Startup Premama Pledges to Stay in State After $4.5 Million Raise

Rhode Island startup Premama announced on GoLocal LIVE that it plans on staying in the state, after raising $4.5 million in 18 months.

The first nationwide line of natural powdered drink mixes, gummies, and soft chews formulated to support the nutritional needs of expecting and new moms, Premama was founded in 2011 by then-Brown student Dan Aziz.

Chief Marketing Office Jamie Schapiro came on LIVE to talk about the product -- and plans for growth.

Following the interview, Premama reps told GoLocal that the company appreciates the fact so many well known institutions are in Providence - from Brown to RISD to Johnson and Wales to URI -- allowing Premama to employ interns multiple times each year.
