"Make room for yourself on your shelf," touts Hasbro on its "Selfie Series" website

Brian Chapman, the Head of Global Design and Development at the Pawtucket-headquartered company, spoke about partnering with Formlabs to make fans' action figure dreams come true.

"Hasbro's Selfie Series project all started years and years ago when we realized that our fans wanted to become the characters in the stories that they love," said Chapman.

"Fans are a very social group. They love to celebrate what they love. They like to get together. They like to dress up and cosplay their characters," he added. "But ultimately, they wanna be immortalized in plastic, right? Fans just kept telling us, 'We want to become an action figure.'"

Chapman said two advancing technologies are making it happen — a simple way to scan someone’s face and head — and then a very affordable way to print that head.

"Hasbro’s about delivering these great experiences, personal experiences to anybody who wants them," said Chapman." And that’s what Formlabs is partnering with us and allowing us to do.
