The summary comes from BDS Analytics and Arcview Group.

Both the data and investment firm, respectively, use the report to track and predict cannabis sales. It is the seventh time a version of the study has been released, which is titled "The State of Legal Cannabis Markets."

According to CNN Business, the report looks at the "total market" regarding pot sales.

This means transactions of pharmaceuticals containing CBD that are FDA-approved are counted. As well as dispensary sales of marijuana for recreational and medical purposes.

Arcview and BDS say the total worldwide market will reach nearly $45 billion.
