John Elkhay Names Ted Newcomer Jr. President of Chow Fun Food Group
John Elkhay, CEO and Maestro of Chow Fun Food Group, announced today the promotion of Ted Newcomer Jr. to President of the company. Chow Fun Food Group is one of Rhiode Island's most celebrated restaurant groups which includes; Ten Prime Steak & Sushi, Luxe Burger Bar, Harry’s Bar & Burger, Rick’s Roadhouse and XO Café.
“I cannot be more proud of Ted. He has overcome great adversity to grow into President of Chow Fun Food Group. His passion and commitment to excellence has allowed him to head one of Rhode Island’s most prestigious restaurant groups, managing 7 restaurants and growing,” said John Elkhay, CEO of Chow Fun Food Group.
Newcomer has been with Chow Fun since 1998, starting his career as a cook, server and bartender and has worked in almost every role in the company since he started his journey with Chow Fun.
In 2003, he was named Corporate Beverage Manager and quickly rose through the ranks when he was named Senior Vice President in 2009.
Newcomer received a associates degree in Culinary Arts and a Bachelors of Science in Food Service Management from Johnson and Wales. Currently, he is a board member of the Rhode Island Hospitality Association and chairs the Government Affairs committee.
