Wayland Square is Getting a New Cocktail Bar

Get ready for a new cocktail bar, Wayland Square.

And it’s in a familiar location.

Scott Champagne, who along with Ben Lloyd has been running the Providence Wine Bar on Angell Street, announced that they will be embarking on a new direction for the space with “The Wayland.”

"As most of you know, Ben and I have worked together in one form or another for a very long time, most recently (and presently) at The XO Bar," said Champagne. "He decided to close Providence Wine Bar, and I’m partnering with him again to rebuild the space into something new."

Champagne said if he "had to tease it," he would describe The Wayland as the following:

Think a little ski lodge without having to ski.
Hotel lobby in SoHo without having to stay over.
Speakeasy without the password.
The sexiest coffee shop without the coffee.
Your favorite cocktail bar without the pretense.
The kind of place you go for one and stay for three.
