NEW: Blackstone Valley Surgicare Acquired by CharterCARE Health Partners

Blackstone Valley Surgicare has been acquired from Surgical Care Affiliates by CharterCARE Health Partners. The Rhode Island Department of Health has approved the purchase. 

“We are delighted to become part of the CharterCARE network. CharterCARE’s breadth of services, contracting expertise and capital strength will ensure stability and growth for our organization in the years ahead,” said Blackstone Administrator Ann Dugan. 

“This acquisition will ensure CharterCARE patients with direct access to a complete range of outpatient surgery procedures and will continue the process of completing our service capabilities”, added CharterCARE President and CEO John Holiver.

Blackstone Valley Surgicare 

Located in Johnston, Blackstone Valley Surgicare employs over 50 health professionals. Last year, it performed over 4,200 outpatient surgical procedures. 

Blackstone Valley Surgicare was founded in 1976, making it one of the first freestanding outpatient surgical facilities in the state. 

CharterCARE 

CharterCARE is Rhode Island’s first coordinated Regional Care health system. 

They provide care and outpatient services using case management technologies and protocols, providing patients with the level of care at the right time.
