Miriam Hospital Hands Out Hurvitz Quality Improvement Awards

Miriam Hospital has named this year’s Arthur and Joyce Hurvitz Quality Improvement Award winners. The annual awards honor teams that improve patient outcomes, safety of care, and reduced hospital costs.

Award Recipients

The Minimally Invasive Urology Institute MIUI at The Miriam Hospital won first place. Meanwhile, Miriam’s Status Indicator and Surgical Site Infection Colorectal Surgery Bundle projects tied for second place.

“The essence of the Hurvitz Quality Improvement Award really gets to the heart of the examples that have been so ably set by Arthur and Joyce Hurvitz,” said Thomas F. Tracy, Jr., M.D., chief medical officer and senior vice president of medical affairs at the Miriam Hospital. “In particular, they have been true leaders in seeking and setting the bar for delivering the highest quality of patient care at The Miriam.”

Winners receive monetary awards that will go towards continuing education, conferences, and other ways to enhance the quality and safety of care at the Miriam Hospital.
