RICH to Honor Richard Kazarian and Bill Harley at Humanities Celebration
Monday evening, the Rhode Island Council for the Humanities (RICH) will honor noted historian, antiques dealer, and civic provocateur Richard Kazarian and award-winning singer, songwriter, and storyteller Bill Harley at its eighth annual Celebration of the Humanities. The Celebration serves as an opportunity to publicly honor awards recipients while spreading the message of RICH’s mission: to inspire and support intellectual curiosity and imagination in all Rhode Islanders through lifelong learning. Each year, the Celebration recognizes the recipients of RICH's Tom Roberts Prize for Creative Achievement in the Humanities and Honorary Chairs' Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Humanities.
Program Supports Local Projects
All proceeds from this year's Celebration will fund RICH’s newest granting initiative, Democracy Demands Wisdom: Humanities Grants for Civic Education, which supports projects aimed at enriching the humanities components of K-12 civic education. The Celebration takes place October 18th from 5:30-7:30pm at Hope Artiste Village in Pawtucket and is open to the public. Tickets are $75 ($25 for students); call 401-273-2250 or visit rihumanities.org.
