Blackstone River Valley Celebrates National Bike & Tourism Month Starting May 1

Blackstone River Valley National Historical Park is celebrating both National Travel & Tourism Month, and National Bike Month with two recreation events for families. 

Family Bike Day 

The first event, Family Bike Day, will take place on Sunday, May 1 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and FREE to participate.

Guests are invited to park at the Blackstone River State Park Visitor Center, located on Interstate 295 north  and ride our bike, walk or run along the path to The Wilbur Kelly House. 

Once there, participate in bike related demonstrations, games end a whole lot more. 

Honey Wellness Festival 

The Honey Wellness Festival will take place on Sunday, May 22 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Visitor Center located at Interstate 295 north. 

The event offers public activities to learn about wellness and all feature vendors, purveyors of honey, fitness and wellness as well as artisans, crafters and much more.

National Bike Month 

National Bike Month is held annual in the month of May and is sponsored by the League of American bicyclists and celebrated in communities from coast to coast. 

National Bike Month was established in 1956. 

National Travel & Tourism Month 

National Travel and Tourism Month is also held each year in the month of May. The month serves as America's annual salute to travel and tourism and was established by a congressional resolution in 1983.
