Don't Miss Newport Polo's Gala Bacchanale August 2nd

Newport Polo will throw the party of the summer in August, when it introduces the Italian Polo Team as its celebrated guests of honor for this year's Bacchanale Ball at Rosecliff, one of Newport's legendary Bellevue Avenue mansions.

The Hope Funds for Cancer Research has been named as the beneficiary for this annual black tie charity gala hosted by the Newport Polo Club on Friday, Aug. 2 from 7pm-midnight.

“The Bacchanale Ball is Newport Polo’s 13th annual International Polo Charity Ball, and will fete guests of honor, the Italian Polo Team, and hail Caesar in creative black tie” said Dr. Peter Friedman, gala Ambassador and Newport Polo Club veteran player.

Newport season highlight

The black tie gala is the social highlight of Newport’s polo season each summer, raising tens of thousands of dollars each year for worthy civic and charitable causes in the community and beyond. The gala weekend festivities include the Ball on Friday night, followed on Saturday by the USA vs. Italy polo match, a highlight in the Newport International Polo Series, and will conclude with a champagne trophy presentation and annual Lobster bake. Hope Funds for Cancer Research

The Hope Funds for Cancer Research will be the recipient of the gala's donor gifts and live auction, “to encourage investigation of innovative cancer treatment and detection for the most difficult-to-treat and understudied cancers," said Dr. Eugene Kennedy, gala Ambassador and Hope Funds trustee. The Hope Funds for Cancer Research supports scientific and medical research programs aimed at increasing knowledge relating to both cancer care and prevention.
