MUSIC: The Lovely Bad Things Bring The Goods To Fete

Wyatt Blair
With a stupendous rock & roll sound accented by old-school pop rhythms, Wyatt Blair and his band opened up the night by being loud as humanly possible. "Ba Ba Ba, Life's A Bitch", "Girls!", "You And I (Are Just Letters In The Alphabet)", "This Is A Happy Song For Sad People", "Cherry Pie", "Sweet Operator (Talkin' On The Telephone)" and "Fall In Love (With You)" exemplified a very groovy set that I enjoyed a lot. Wyatt Blair has an album out called Banana Cream Dream, if it sounds anything like him and his band live I guarantee you'll come to adore it like a rose petal in a glass of whiskey.
The Lovely Bad Things
Ever since I heard The Lovely Bad Things a few months ago I fell in love with their complex variety of dirty punk tunes right when I pressed play. This fantastic quartet pumped up the volume with "Darth Lauren", "I Just Want You To Go Away", "Icee Creeps", "Why?", "Randell The Savage", "Cocaine Werewolf", "Cult Life", "Gravel Dreamer", "Fried Eyes" and "Hear Or Anywhere", which was really cool to see everyone in the band switching instruments and vocals duties in between every song. Definitely something you don't see every day when you go out to enjoy live music. The Lovely Bad Things have a new album out called The Late Great Whatever, in my opinion it's one of the top 5 punk records to come out this year and I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys music roaring through their headphones. Fete is always fun and you'll never have a bad night there, log on to fetemusic.com to check out what else they have going on in the near future.
