On Tuesday, May 28th, at the age of 19, Action passed away suddenly. As you may remember, this past February, Action, along with the Zoo’s other harbor seal, Bubba, underwent cataract surgery. Both seals made a full recovery and were out greeting guests soon after the operation.

Action was a cherished favorite for Zoo visitors who came to see the seals, participate in seal feedings, and learn about their life and habits. Action was also a favorite with his keepers. He greeted them each morning, and was always happy to meet guests who wanted to feed him fish and other similar treats.

Action was born in 2000 at Sea World and joined the Roger Williams Park Zoo family on July 7, 2001. He had a full life, thanks to the support of donors, members and visitors like you. He enjoyed swimming and playing with his half-brother Bubba.

Everyone at the Zoo will miss Action ❤️

We ask those with remembrances of Action to share photos and thoughts so that Action's keepers may see your remembrances and kind words.
