Newport Goes Daffy with Weeklong Daffodil Celebration

Don't miss the spring splendor of daffodils this week throughout Newport.
Newport is celebrating the blooming of its daffodils with family events throughout the city from now until Sunday, April 27. Newport is currently home to over 250,000 perennially blooming daffodils,98,500 of which were planted last fall by volunteers, schools, organizations, businesses and residents. That’s now 1/4th of the goal set by “Daffodillion,” a community wide organization working to beautify the city by the sea with one million daffodils.

The festivities kicked off on Tuesday with a sold out cocktail reception with Governor Lincoln Chafee at The Chanler on Cliff Walk in which hosts thanked the many supporters of Daffodillion.
