RI Black Heritage Society to Present Exhibit at John Brown House Museum

Many Faces will feature dozens of photos from the late 1880s to the present of African Americans living and working in Rhode Island.
Rare photos from the archives
Photos were submitted from the Rhode Island Heritage Society, Rhode Island Historical Society, Newport Historical Society, Providence City Archives, and members of the community. Many of the photographs are on loan from archives and have never before been exhibited to the public.

The exhibit is free of charge and will open on Gallery Night on Thursday, July 17th at 5:30pm. The opening will include guest speakers talking about the historical significance of each photo. Food and beverages will be available.
There will also be three door prizes at the event and a chance to win a brand new Panasonic Lumix digital camera (valued at $550.00).
