Washington Park Library Announces Two Upcoming Events

Washington Park Library announced two upcoming programs for families.

The first program on Baby Chicks is presented by Casey Farm and will take place during April vacation.

The other program is on how to make a Herbal Sleep Pillow.

Project Chick at the Washington Park Library

Families, join us at the Washington Park Library on Friday April 19th at 3:00pm as Historic New England’s Casey Farm in Saunderstown presents an hour-long, hands-on program showing how chickens are raised at Casey Farm, what they eat, and what precautions are taken to protect them from predators. Children will learn about the life cycle of chickens, get to hold and touch a variety of eggs from hummingbird to ostrich, observe and touch a live Dominique chicken, and learn how to properly hold a baby chick.

This program is free and open to all ages.

Forty Winks: Herbal Sleep Pillow Workshop at the Washington Park Library

Join us at the Washington Park Library on Thursday May 2 at 7:30 pm to learn about the powerful healing capabilities of herbs to relieve stress, anxiety, and nervousness and to make your very own sleep pillow. Keep away those bad dreams and make your nights more snug and cozy! Mother/daughter duo, Velya Jancz-Urban and Ehris Urban from Grounded Goodwife will provide herbal enlightenment and hands-on (no sewing required) creation of your own customized Herbal Sleep Pillow.

This program is free and open to all.
