The Lecture

About the lecture, the Providence Public Library says "Our current clashes over questions of immigration, citizenship, equitable districting, and access to the vote have roots in the story of Thomas W. Dorr and his attempts to reform representation and enfranchisement in mid-19th century Rhode Island, culminating in the 1842 Dorr Rebellion. Independent scholar Russell DeSimone holds one of the most thorough and important collections of Rebellion-related books and ephemera; a selection of items from his collection is on view through February 9 at PPL in an exhibit curated by DeSimone.”
