Biking Activists Rallying Against Smiley’s Proposed Closure of Bike Path Along River

Providence Streets Coalition, Providence Bike Jam, and some members of the Providence City Council have scheduled a protest rally on Monday, April 1, in front of City Hall.

 

The event starts at 5:00 pm.

The rally is “to urge Mayor Smiley to abandon plans to remove life-saving protected bike lanes.”

 

The groups said that “we will rally at City Hall and then joyfully walk/roll/run/ride down South Water Street to demonstrate the vitality and importance of the urban trail.”
