Gov. McKee Signs Declaration of Emergency Ahead of Hurricane Henri

Marc Pappas of the Rhode Island Emergency Management Agency made the announcement on national news ahead of McKee's expected 2:30 PM press conference.
The Category 1 hurricane is expected to hit Rhode Island sometime around noontime on Sunday.

At about 11 AM Saturday morning the National Weather Service upgraded the threat and issued a Hurricane Warning for "Block Island RI, Newport RI, and Washington RI."
