Israel Launches Major Attack Against Iran

The Times of Israel is reporting, “Explosions are being heard in Tehran, Iranian state TV reports. Loud explosions are being heard in different locations of the capital Tehran,” state TV says without providing details. It adds that Iran’s air defense system is on full alert. Iran suspends all flights at its main Iman Khomeini airport, state TV says."

Israel said the target is Iran's nuclear program.

The New York Times is reporting, “Explosions rocked Tehran early Friday morning, and Israel’s defense minister said his country’s warplanes had carried out an attack on Iran, raising fears of a war between two of the most powerful militaries in the Middle East.

 

Neither the scale of the attack nor the damage it caused was immediately clear but an Israeli military official, who briefed reporters on the condition of anonymity to comply with protocol, said the strikes had targeted elements of Iran’s nuclear program and long-range missile capabilities.”

 

And, Al Jazeera reports, “Iran’s Press TV says residential buildings targeted. The official Iranian news outlet shares photos of what it said were residential buildings struck in the apparent Israeli attack. The pictures showed substantial damage to the buildings.
