Bride in Newport Wedding Melee Now Facing Additional Charge for Hitting Police
Kylie Swain of South Weymouth, Massachusetts, had initially been charged with simple assault and battery on September 11, following her arrest stemming from the September 10 offense date.
Swain did not appear in court along the other members of the wedding party who faced charges on September 13 in Newport Court.

Additional Newport Police body camera video obtained by GoLocal showed more interaction between Swain and police.
As GoLocal reported on September 16, “New Video Shows Bride Strike Newport Officer and Her Parents Involved in Melee.”
Court records show that on September 27, Swain was charged with an additional assault and battery count — after being seen striking an officer in the video.
She now faces a pretrial conference on October 17, according to court records.
