Brown Alpert Medical School Spine Expert on Backpack Injuries & "Text Neck" LIVE at 4 P.M.

Dr. Dominic Thomas Kleinhenz with the Warren Alpert Medical School at Brown University, who specializes in treating neck and back problems, will appear on "Smart Health" on Wednesday at 4 p.m -- on location at the new University Orthopedics facility in Kettle Point in East Providence -- to talk about spine health as kids go back to school.

From spine issues stemming from backpacks, to "text neck," Kleinhenz will address common topics that parents and students should know about as they pertain to spine health - and when to seek help. 

Kleinhenz completed a residency in orthopedic surgery at Brown University and The Miriam Hospital and Rhode Island Hospital and also completed a fellowship in spine surgery at Brown University and Rhode Island Hospital. He is a board eligible orthopedic surgeon with the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.

In July 2019, he joined the spine surgery team University Orthopedics in East Providence.

Akelman is the Vincent Zecchino Professor and Chairman of the Department of Orthopaedics at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University; he is also the Surgeon-in-Chief at the Department of Orthopaedics at Rhode Island Hospital and Miriam Hospital in Providence.
