Care New England’s CEO Fanale Denies Social Media Reports About Kent Hospital

Statement from Fanale
The accounts regarding Kent Hospital and the COVID-19 patient that are being circulated on social media are not accurate and in fact, dangerous as the Rhode Island health care community deals with COVID-19. Kent Hospital is committed to taking care of all patients that walk through our doors. Over the last several weeks, we have been proactively working with our clinical leadership team to prepare for COVID-19. While we are unable to comment on specific patient care, if and when a patient were to present at Kent Hospital with COVID-19 symptoms, our team would appropriately isolate the patient and work with public health officials on testing. Kent Hospital does not control the testing process and therefore must follow all CDC and Rhode Island Department of Health guidelines. We will continue to take care of all patients who arrive seeking our help.
