Charges Against WPRI's Patrick Little Dismissed

Charges of disorderly conduct and simple assault against WPRI anchor Patrick Little have been dismissed, according to the Second Division District Court (Newport County) Clerk’s office.

This comes after Little pleaded not guilty late last week, according to the Court. 

“I want to apologize to my colleagues and our viewers for the attention this incident brought to our station. I cooperated fully with the investigation and am pleased that it has been resolved," said Little in a statement.

WPRI management added, "The situation involving our employee was unfortunate and we are satisfied with its resolution.”

Little’s Arrest

As GoLocalProv reported, the incident took place on Sunday, October 6 at approximately 1 a.m. at the Newport Blues Cafe.

The arrest report cites that Little was "suspected of using alcohol" and the force used was "personal weapons -- hands, feet, etc."

According to the report, “Disorderly Conduct 11-45-1: Thomas Patrick Little was a disorderly party when he intentionally and knowingly engaged in fighting.

On 10/6/2019 at approximately 0100 hours Officer Sherman, Officer Drane, and I were in the area of One Pelham East, 270 Thames Street, for bar closing.

While in the area we heard yelling coming from the area of the Newport Blues Cafe, 286 Thames Street, and responded on foot. Sgt. McGregor also responded."
