City of Providence Kicks Off "Souper Bowl of Caring" Canned Food Drive

The City of Providence is teaming with the Rhode Island Community Food Bank for the second  “Souper Bowl of Caring” canned food drive.

The food drive runs through February 17.

The food drive aims to fight local food insecurity and poverty by making contributions to local hunger-relief charities, including the Rhode Island Community food Bank.

Last year, the City collected 2,290 lbs. of food during this event.

Collection bins located across the city will accept healthy, nutritious and non-perishable food that is in good condition and “in date.”

Expired food will not be accepted.
