EDITORIAL: Domestic Terrorists Must Be Prosecuted and Trump Must Be Removed for Inciting Events

Let’s make no mistake about what took place this week, the sitting President of the United States Donald Trump directed thousands to attack the United States Capitol building.

The Capitol building is our — Americans — seat of Democracy. It is a global symbol.

The terrorists were violent, destructive and it is reported that some had zip ties to take elected members of Congress hostage.

Bombs, guns, knives and Molotov cocktails have been recovered.

Five Americans are dead including one Capitol police officer.

Trump said that day, “So we’re going to, we’re going to walk down Pennsylvania Avenue, I love Pennsylvania Avenue, and we’re going to the Capitol and we’re going to try and give… The Democrats are hopeless. They’re never voting for anything, not even one vote. But we’re going to try and give our Republicans, the weak ones, because the strong ones don’t need any of our help, we’re going to try and give them the kind of pride and boldness that they need to take back our country.”

The crowd erupted and marched to the Capitol building, they smashed through barriers, they broke windows, they assaulted police officers, they vandalized the American symbol of Democracy.

It is time for patriotic Americans, especially Republicans, to step up and stop this. And, stop it now.

The domestic terrorists must be fully prosecuted.

And, Trump must be removed from office.
