Greenwood Named Fire Chief at T.F. Green Airport

The Rhode Island Airport Corporation (RIAC) has named William Greenwood as Fire Chief of T.F. Green Airport.

“Mr. Greenwood’s vast experience will be a welcome addition at RIAC and we are pleased he has agreed to lead this vital public safety component at the airport,” said Iftikhar Ahmad, president, and CEO of the Rhode Island Airport Corporation.

Greenwood will be responsible for the overall supervision and administration of the airport’s fire department.

About Greenwood

Greenwood is coming from the Manchester-Boston Regional Airport, located in Manchester, New Hampshire, where he served for 24 years with the past 12 years as assistant fire chief.

His responsibilities included coordinating fire ground operations, firefighter training and development and overseeing FBO inspections.

Concurrently, he also served as a lieutenant with the City of Keene, NH Fire Department for 22 years.

The Keene Fire Department responded to approximately 5,000 emergencies annually.

He began his firefighting career serving for 2 years as a volunteer firefighter.
