The House Finance Committee has posted the FY 2025 state budget for potential consideration on the evening of Friday, May 31, in Room 35 of the State House.

The budget (2024-H 7225), introduced on January 18 by House Finance Committee Chairman Marvin Abney (D-Dist. 73, Newport, Middletown), at the request of Governor Daniel McKee, is posted, but the committee will be considering amended legislation, to be posted at the hearing.

This year’s budget consideration has seen little conflict, except the announcement by Shekarchi that the House would not include McKee’s late budget amendment to purchase a building owned by Citizens Bank at twice the price of the accessed value.

The Friday posting is an indication that Speaker of the House Joe Shekarchi will push to end this year’s session on June 14.
