GoLocal uncovered Ira Magaziner’s inclusion on the trip with Epstein, Maxwell and Clinton.
“2002 I got a call from President Clinton who I had become friends with over many years, inviting me to come with him on an 8-day humanitarian trip that he was going to make to Africa and South Africa and I thought it was an incredible opportunity and apparently he was not having great success with getting people to say yes,” said Spacey last week.
“I will say this. There were young girls on those flights. There were young girls on those flights yeah and that's been out. They've talked about it,” added Spacey.
Besides the trip with Ira Magaziner, Spacey has other ties to the Magaziners.
In 2009, Suzanne and Ira Magaziner were the chairs for Trinity Rep's gala award dinner. They are the parents of U.S. Congressman Seth Magaziner (D-2).
The award recipient was Spacey — the actor who has been accused of sexual assault and had been charged in the United Kingdom on multiple counts of which he was acquited in 2023.
According to a version of Suzanne Magaziner’s online bio, she describes the relationship with the actor as “her personal friend Kevin Spacey.”
The relationship between the Magaziners and Spacey goes back to the early 2000s.

In 2017, in light of the allegations against Kevin Spacey at that time, Trinity Rep removed him from our list of Pell Award winners. Honoring someone with the Pell Award celebrates their achievements in the arts, contributions to the field at large, and betterment of society. Given the allegations against him, Mr. Spacey no longer fit the rigorous criteria established for this honor," Jen Canole of Trinity Rep told GoLocal.
In August of 2019, GoLocal first exposed Magaziner’s travels on Epstein’s plane — a plane dubbed the Lolita Express due to allegations of sex between young girls tied to Epstein — and his consort Maxwell, who was ultimately arrested.
GoLocal reported, “According to flight records, the senior Magaziner flew on Jeffrey Epstein’s plane numerous times. The flight records show that Magaziner flew with Epstein and Clinton in Africa, China, and Hong Kong.
Magaziner has close ties to Clinton. During Clinton’s presidency, Magaziner was Senior Advisor for Policy Development leading the Clintons' effort for national healthcare policy.
After his White House career, Magaziner chaired the Clinton Climate Initiative and the Clinton Foundation HIV/AIDS program, with its focus on Africa.
One set of flights with Epstein was in September of 2002 in Africa that included a landing in Dubai. Besides Magaziner and Clinton, the flight log lists supermodel Naomi Campbell, and actors Kevin Spacey and Chris Tucker."
