Barrington Doctor Facing Child Molestation Charges Surrenders Medical License

A Barrington doctor who was arrested earlier in March on child molestation charges has now surrendered his medical license. 

Documents show that on Friday, March 22, David S. Healey voluntarily surrendered his license with the Rhode Island Department of Health to practice medicine in the state, which he has held since December 2020. 

He also agreed to provide a copy of the agreement “within 24-hours" to any out-of-state medical practice with which he might have an affiliation or a license to practice.

Barrington Police announced on Friday they arrested a doctor on child molestation charges. 

According to the police, they began a criminal investigation on January 25, 2024 in coordination with the Rhode Island Attorney General’s Office, Aubin Center, Day One, and the  Department of Children, Youth and Families. 

Police say the investigation focused on an adult male, David S. Healey of Barrington, Rhode Island, and involved a juvenile.

On March 14, 2024, Barrington Police presented an affidavit for an arrest warrant for David S. Healey, a licensed medical doctor in Rhode Island and Massachusetts, at 6th District Court in Providence. 

Based on the facts presented, an arrest warrant was issued, and on March 15, 2024, Barrington Police apprehended Healey at his residence.

He was arraigned on first degree child molestation charges.
