NAACP Providence Branch to Host 102nd Annual Freedom Fund Breakfast this Saturday

The NAACP Providence Branch is hosting their 102nd annual Freedom Fund Breakfast on Saturday May 2 from 9:00-11:30AM at the Providence Marriott Hotel on Orms Street.

The event, "Journey for Justice: Our Jobs, Our Votes, Our Schools, Our Lives Matter!” will feature keynote speaker Dr. Julia Jordan-Zachery, Associate Professor and Director of Black Studies at Providence College.

Dr. Jordan-Zachery holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Connecticut. In addition to publishing her book, Black Women, Cultural Images and Social Policy, she is a member of the Association for the Study of Black Women in Politics and has received such awards as the Rodney Higgins Best Faculty Paper Award and the W.E.B. Dubois Best Book Award by the National Conference of Black Political Scientists.
