NEW: National Grid: 750+ Customers Out of Service Across RI from Juno

National Grid reported as of 9:30 AM Tuesday morning, approximately 755 Rhode Islanders are without power from the storm -- including Providence residents.

"Right now, there are 755 customers out of service, centered in Narragansett, South Kingstown, and 100 or so in Providence," said Tim Horan, President of Rhode Island National Grid, who said the number has been fluctuating between roughly 500 and 1000.

"We have 175 crews on the property," added Horan.  "We're still in the height of the storm with strong wind gusts.  Line workers will begin restoration work as soon as it's safe."  Horan noted that in sustained winds of 35 miles per hour or more, crews do not go up.

"Be prepared for a multi-day event," said Horan, who noted that that Grid was keeping an eye on another weather "event" later this week, but that it "nothing of this magnitude."

For power outages, Horan said customers should call 1-800-465-1212.   And for those who have life support equipment, call 1-800-322-3223.
