NEW: No End to RI’s Rising Gas Prices

For the fourth week in a row, gas prices in Rhode Island are on the rise.
According to the latest survey by AAA Southern New England, the average price at the pump for regular, unleaded gasoline is currently $3.829. That’s a three cent increase from last week and a five-cent increase over what prices were at this point last year.
Rhode Island drivers are now paying five centers more than the current national average, which is $3.77 and the state is seeing a 19-cent range in prices with the lowest reported average at $3.759 and the highest at $3.949.
Prices are now 28 cents higher than they were a month ago.
Midgrade gasoline prices also rose by three cents this week to an average of $3.989 while premium prices stayed steady at $4.109 and diesel prices rose two cents to an average of $4.199.
