I am happy to say that the folks at @pvd.fest called me today to apologize for what happened yesterday. it seems as if there were multiple factors that played into what ended up in a cancellation. ⁣⁣

I am grateful for the team at @pvd.fest for taking the time out of their day to reach out and apologize. I love the city of Providence and I know those folks have been working their tails off for months to make sure everything ran as smoothly as possible. I accept the apology and I’m looking forward to having a great working relationship with @pvd.fest ⁣

⁣With that being said, they have offered us a gig at India Point Park on July 4th for the fireworks special. I hope to see you all there!⁣

White Canceled

As GoLocalProv reported on Sunday, White, ranked the top Americana Singer/Songwriter in RI by Motif Magazine was canceled at the last moment by PVDFest on Sunday night.

White explained the chaotic experience on Facebook.

“friends, I’m sorry to say @pvd.fest has dropped the ball due to some poor management/scheduling. i applied to be a part of @pvd.fest in February of this year. shortly after that, I was given a contract which I hand delivered to the folks at @pvd.fest . Today on the day I was scheduled to play, I arrived two hours early as they ask you to do in the email. Yesterday I spent time and money while battling a sinus infection to practice at a rehearsal space with my band. When I arrived at 3pm.,” White wrote.

“I was told something happened that pushed everyone’s set times back, which means I had to wait 4 hours to play at 7pm. What happened was that @pvd.fest had another stage about 50 feet away from our stage and they didn’t think about how having a full band on stage would drown out the other. So every time someone was on the “other stage” they had to make sure nobody was playing on my stage, thus pushing us back 2 hours. @pvd.fest I had multiple friends/fans there for 5pm and I had to to tell them @pvd.fest screwed up and pushed our set to 7pm. Those people graciously waited. At 6:30 another band came on and I was told I was next. I quickly ran to grab a coffee when I received a text that our set was cancelled. @pvd.fest had not only wasted my time today by waiting 4 hours for nothing but they also wasted my bandmates time, their families time, and my fans time. Do better @pvd.fest,” she continued.

In 2018, White wowed folks when she played The Alex and Ani Lounge on GoLocal LIVE.
