NEW: RI Coronavirus Cases Drop to 269 Over Past Day, 7 New Fatalities: Watch 1 PM Briefing

After days of record-high coronavirus case numbers, the Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) is reporting a drop in new positive cases over the past day.

On Monday, RIDOH reported 269 new cases— a lower number than the daily case count in the three to four hundred range in the past week.  The total number of positive cases is now 7,708.

The state reported 7 new fatalities over the past day for 233 now in total.

There are currently 266 hospitalizations with 81 in the ICU and 56 on ventilators.
