NEW: RI Coronavirus Deaths Down, But Cases Up - Watch Wednesday 2:30 PM Briefing HERE

The Rhode Island Department of Health reported 6 deaths in the state from COVID-19 on Wednesday— a marked drop from the 26 announced on Tuesday.

Cases, however, are up — 209 new positive cases were reported Wednesday, a more than 50% increase over the 134 reported on Tuesday.

Currently, there are 257 people hospitalized with COVID-19, with 58 in the ICU and 45 on ventilators. 

Rhode Island Governor Gina Raimondo and health officials will be live at the Vets Auditorium for their weekday coronavirus briefing at 2:30 PM.
