“Gerry is well-respected nationwide for his deep knowledge of the lottery industry, and Rhode Islanders for decades have benefited from having someone with Gerry’s experience and expertise at the helm. He will be sorely missed. We wish him a long and happy retirement,” said Governor Gina Raimondo.

More recently, he has had to navigate the ongoing battle between lottery provider IGT and casino operator Twin River.

The battle has raged on for more than 9 months.

About Aubin

Aubin was appointed to the Lottery in May of 1996, which ended that fiscal year generating $90.4 million in revenue for the state.

The Lottery has grown over the years, with Aubin now overseeing a staff of 103.

In Fiscal Year 2019, the Lottery generated $397.3 million in revenue.

Aubin, who is the longest-serving director of the same lottery, was inducted into the Public Gaming Research Institute’s Lottery Industry Hall of Fame in 2009.

He also serves as a member of the North American Association of State & Provincial Lotteries (NASPL).

Aubin serves on two NASPL subcommittees, the Sports Betting Group and Vendor Relations Groups, as well as chairing NASPL’s Professional Development Steering Security Group.

In addition, he serves as a board member of the Multi-State Lottery Association (MUSL) PowerBall Game and Video Lottery Game groups.

Previously, Aubin has served as president of both the NASPL and the MUSL, and chairman of the MUSL PowerBall Committee.
