The weather advisory comes after a strong storm brought damaging winds to the state earlier this week.

As GoLocal reported on Thursday morning, heavy rains and winds overnight left over 16,000 RI Energy customers without power.

In Lincoln, Rhode Island, one house suffered significant damage after a large tree was uprooted and came through a bedroom ceiling, GoLocal was first to report.

"I was in bed sleeping and felt a rumble then heard wind and ran out of the room," said Roxanne Beretta, who lives on Mulberry Lane. "Then the boom - and saw the tree come right through the roof and rain flooding through to the basement."
