"Time is Running Short" for Biden to Make Decision About Staying Race, Says Pelosi

Former United States Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi said Wednesday that "time is running short" for President Joe Biden to decide if he is going to stay in the 2024 presidential race. 

In an interview on MSNBC's "Morning Joe," Pelosi said, "It’s up to the president to decide if he is going to run. We’re all encouraging him to make that decision because time is running short," when asked if Biden had her backing.

"Pelosi Hints That Biden Should Reconsider Re-Election Run," reported the NYT.

Pelosi indicated that she couldn't say whether Biden has the overwhelming support of congressional Democrats, especially because she's not in a leadership role anymore.

"But he’s beloved, he is respected, and people want him to make that decision. Not me," she said.

Asked if she wants him to run, Pelosi said, "I want him to do whatever he decides to do, and that’s — that’s the way it is. Whatever he decides, we go with."
