In a high-profile interview with ABC News' George Stephanopoulos, President Joe Biden sought to answer questions about his age and ability to serve in a second term.

While the performance was better than the disastrous Presidential Debate against Donald Trump, Biden looked, sounded and was less than commanding in the interview.

Less than two minutes into the interview, Stephanopoulos asked Biden if he had rewatched the debate.

At the 1:50 mark of the interview. Biden seemed confused.

Growing Number Calling for Biden to Step Aside

More Democrats Calling for Biden to step aside.

“Senator Mark Warner, Democrat of Virginia, is working to convene Democratic senators next week to discuss a path forward after President Biden’s disastrous debate performance, and to discuss their concerns about him remaining as the nominee, according to five people with direct knowledge about the effort,” reports the New York Times.

Molly Ball of the Wall Street Journal writes, “Asked about a reported push by Sen. Mark Warner to rally Democratic senators behind an effort to pressure him out of the race, Biden dismissed it as coming from someone who ‘also tried to get the nomination.’ Warner has never run for president, though he briefly explored a candidacy in 2006.”

More Democratic members of the US House of Representatives are calling for Biden to step aside:

Rep. Lloyd Doggett (D-TX)

Rep. Raúl Grijalva (D-AZ)

Rep. Seth Moulton (D-MA)        

Rep. Mike Quigley (D-Il)

“But if Biden can’t or won’t see what so many others see, the party could be headed for an ugly and protracted stalemate. And the goodwill most Democrats feel toward him might begin to dissipate,” writes Ball.
