Pawtucket Car Owners to Receive Tax Bills Next Week
Pawtucket car owners can expect to receive their car tax bills next week.

Mayor Donald Grebien announced on Thursday that car owners will get their tax bills starting September 25.

“This long overdue tax cut provides needed relief for hardworking taxpayers. The City has extended its payment deadline to give residents enough time to prepare. If residents have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to us,” said Grebien.

Car Tax Bills

Most residents will see changes to their car tax bills following the passage of the car tax cut by the General Assembly and the Governor.

The deadline for first and second quarter payments of the car tax bills will be extended to November 30 to accommodate the delay.

Taxpayers will not be assessed an interest penalty due to the delay in issuing the Motor Vehicle Excise Tax bills if they are paid on time, by the extended deadline.

Information on these changes and the extended deadline will be included in all car tax bills and the City will continue to publicize the extended deadline.
