Providence Accepting Nominations for 17th Annual MLK Hall of Fame Awards

The City of Providence is currently accepting nominations for the 17th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Hall of Fame awards.

“The award is a powerful reminder of Dr. King's legacy and the ways Dr. King's vision lives on in the work of Providence's civic leaders,” writes the City about the award.

The induction ceremony will be held in January.

Nominating Process

Letters of nomination will be accepted until Friday, January 3, and are welcome of local individuals who have made contributions to social justice in Providence.

Nominees must be a resident of Providence, or have accomplished a significant amount of community work in Providence.

Letters should be no more than two pages long and specify how the nominee exemplifies the spirit of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s commitment to equity, civil rights, justice, and kindness.
