Providence Police Investigating Stabbing

Providence police are investigating a stabbing in the city on Sunday. 

About Incident

Police responded to the 400 block of Plainfield Street shortly after 7 AM on Sunday for a report of a stabbing.

According to police, the victim — a male in his 20s — was bleeding heavily from his face.

Police requested rescue and the victim was transported for treatment.

Based on witness statements, police said they searched a residence on Viola Street where they located the suspect. 

Police arrested Daniel Garcia-Ruiz, who was turned over to detectives for charging. 

The incident remains under investigation.
