The RI High Schools with the Most Suspensions

Find out where your local high school ranks in the below slides, which lists schools by the number of suspensions they had in the 2011-2012 school year, for which the most recent data is available. Schools are ranked by the ratio of the number of suspensions to the overall student body. That ratio is expressed as a percentage, with a larger percentage meaning that a school had more suspensions and disciplinary incidents than a school with a lower percentage. Schools are listed beginning with those that had the lowest ratios of suspensions to student population.

Notes: 1. Only the number of suspensions is displayed, not the number of students disciplined. So figures could reflect either a small group of misbehaved students, or widespread lack of discipline. 2. The total figures for suspensions include in- and out-of-school suspensions, as well as alternative disciplinary methods. 3. School with populations of less than one hundred students, or combined elementary-middle-high schools, or school for which data was not available, are not listed (which is why the Block Island School is not on the list).
