RIPTA Announces Detours to Accommodate Flames of Hope Celebration

The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) will detour Route 56 (Chalkstone Avenue) and Route 57 (Smith Street) in downtown Providence to accommodate the Gloria Gemma Flames of Hope Celebration.

The detour will be in effect starting at 8 a.m. on Thursday, September 28 through Midnight on Sunday, October 1. Gaspee street will be closed during this time.

Inbound trips will travel the regular route to Smith Street and then use Francis Street to regular route.

Outbound trips will travel the regular route to the intersection of Francis and Gaspee Streets, continue on Francis Street to Smith Street, and then resume regular route.
