Sexual Assault Reported on Thayer Street in Providence

A man is facing charges for sexually assaulting two women on Thayer Street in Providence.

About Incident 

Shortly before 10 PM on Monday, Providence police responded to the intersection of Waterman Avenue and Thayer Street for a report of a sexual assault.

Police said they met with two female victims, who were speaking with Brown University Police. 

The women told police they were approached by a man unknown to them, who grabbed both their buttocks over their clothing. 

The male suspect reportedly then followed the females down Thayer Street before a group of men came over to separate the parties while they waited for police to arrive. 

The suspect was detained by police and taken to Central Station, where he awaited charging by detectives.
