Providence Police are investigating a report of shots fired in the city on Sunday.

About Incident

Shortly after 6 PM on Sunday, police were dispatched to the area of 130 Fillmore Street for a report of shots fired.

Upon arrival, police were flagged down by the caller who stated to police that his vehicle was shot into while he was inside of it.

The reporting party told police he observed a late 1990s white Mitsubishi Galant stop in the roadway and the back passenger’s window rolled down.

He said he then saw an arm stuck out of the window which began firing towards him

Police observed the reporting party's vehicle with four bullet holes in the driver’s side of the vehicle.

Police located three spent shell casings and one projectile in the roadway beside the driver’s side of vehicle.

Lastest Shots Fired

On Sunday, Providence Police were alraedy investigating a report of shots fired off of Atwells Avenue early Sunday morning.

Shortly before 3 AM, police were dispatched to 95 Newark Street for a report of shots fired.
