Titanic Featured at Steamship Historical Society of America’s Dinner

The Titanic will be the feature of the Steamship Historical Society of America’s second annual Ocean Liner Dinner.

“The subject of thousands of books, movies, television shows and even video games, there are few who haven’t heard some version of the liner’s tragic maiden voyage. But despite her tragic end, the Titanic’s story encompasses so much more than that one fateful night,” writes the group on their website.

The dinner will take place on April 8, 2017 at Roger Williams Park Casino in Providence.

The guest of honor for the night will be Bill Miller.

Miller will look back on some of the great ships that crossed the Atlantic Ocean.

Proceeds from the dinner will support the Warwick-based Ship History Center and their “Steaming into the Future” educational program, which was awarded a $50,000 federal grant last year through the National Parks Service and the National Maritime Heritage Grant Program to build an online interactive experience for students worldwide.
