Two Dead From Gunshot Wounds, Report Cumberland Police Department

Cumberland Police Chief Matthew J. Benson reported on Wendesday that the Cumberland Police Department is conducting an investigation of the death of two individuals in the city.

“At approximately 6:40 a.m. on Wednesday, June 22, members of the Cumberland Police Department were dispatched to 28 Birchwood Dr. for a report of two adults suffering from gunshot wounds. They were pronounced dead at the scene,” said Benson.

“Preliminary investigation indicates that this is an isolated incident as the two parties were known to each other. All other residents were found to be unharmed inside the home’” added Benson.

Benson said there is no danger to the community at this time.
