Good Evening Lincoln High School Parents/Guardians,
In an effort to keep you informed about your children's safety at school, we wanted to let you know that high school administration and Lincoln Police Department received information this evening about two students who created a digital "hit list". Upon investigation by the Lincoln PD and high school administration, it was determined that there was not and is not a threat to the safety of your children at school tomorrow. Additionally, the investigation revealed that at no time today were your children unsafe.
The students in question will not be in school tomorrow per administrative directives and the case is now being handled by Lincoln PD. As you know, your children's safety and security are our top priority and while this threat was not deemed to be actionable by the students, we did want to be transparent with you about the information we received and the actions taken to keep our students, staff, and teachers safe.
